mini assignment for Computer network

IPod touch 5

These days technology has become very important in our life. From children and teenagers to adults and elders. Technology is vital in today’s world and makes everything easier. The scope of technology has already take in almost all aspect of our life. For example, entertain, fun, health, business and so forth. In entertain aspect we already know about IPod. As we know IPod is a line of portable media players and multi-purpose pocket computers designed and marketed by Apple Inc. however, for now IPod is not only use for listening to music but for IPod touch 5 which is the newest technology of IPod you can also do anything besides listening to music for example playing video game, take picture, take selfie by front camera, editing picture, even open the social media. That’s why many people say that IPod is the cheap version of IPhone which is iPhone is a line of smartphones designed and marketed by Apple Inc. So that’s why even IPod has not famous anymore because people can listen to music in their smartphone, IPod still has position for customer especially for Apple customer. Therefore I would like to give a review about IPod especially IPod touch 5.
IPod Touch 5 features IOS, which is Apple's mobile operating system. The user interface of iOS is based on the concept of direct manipulation, using multi-touch gestures. Interface control elements consist of sliders, switches, and buttons. Interaction with the OS includes gestures such as swipe, tap, pinch, and reverse pinch, all of which have specific definitions within the context of the iOS operating system and its multi-touch interface. IPod touch 5 initially shipped with iOS 6, IPod touch 5 can play music, movies, television shows, eBooks, audiobooks, and podcasts and can sort its media library by songs, artists, albums, videos, playlists, genres, composers, podcasts, audiobooks, and compilations. Users can rotate their device horizontally to landscape mode to access cover flow. This feature shows the different album covers in a scroll-through photo library. Scrolling is achieved by swiping a finger across the screen. Alternatively, headset controls can be used to pause, play, skip, and repeat tracks. However, the ear pods that comes with the iPod does not include a remote and mic.  The Voice Control feature can also be used to identify a track, play songs in a playlist or by a specific artist, or create a genius playlist.
IPod Touch 5 features the Apple A5 chip which is similar to the one on the iPhone 4S, iPad 2 and the iPad Mini. The chip comprises a 1 GHz dual core ARM Cortex-A9 processor and a PowerVR SGX543MP2 (2-core) GPU making it faster than the fourth generation iPod Touch, which uses the Apple A4 chip. Storage capacities are available at 32 or 64 GB with a 16 GB announced at a later date to replace the previous generation. The Retina Display of the iPod is similar to the one on the iPhone 5, measuring 1,136 by 640 pixels with an aspect ratio of almost exactly 16:9. Measuring 4 inches diagonally, it has a display size of 6.7 square inches and a pixel density of 326 ppi which remains the same as the fourth generation. Screen icons are arranged in a matrix of 6 rows of 4 icons each. With a larger screen than the previous generation model, the fifth generation iPod Touch allows a 6th row of icons to be added to the 5 rows that were present in the fourth generation iPod Touch. However, the fifth generation iPod Touch does not include an ambient light sensor which was included in the previous generation. The new iSight camera has 5 megapixels and is capable of 1080p video recording with an illuminated sensor and a LED flash. The front-facing camera was also upgraded to 1.2 megapixels capable of 720p video compared to the VGA 0.3 megapixels front camera on the fourth generation.
The fifth generation iPod Touch's (IPod touch 5) finish features an aluminium, which is made from same kind of anodized aluminium used in the MacBook line. With a new iSight camera and LED flash, the iPod Touch includes a new feature known as the iPod Touch Loop. At the bottom left corner of the back of the iPod Touch, there is a button which can be pressed to allow a wrist strap to attach to the iPod Touch. Other changes to the iPod Touch include the addition of colours. It is available in five: Space Grey (Replacing the Slate colour variant as of September 2013), Silver, Pink, Yellow, Blue and (Product) RED. The Space Grey (or Slate) version comes with a black front while the rest of the colour variants of the iPod come with a white front. It will make IPod look more elegant and good looking.
For connect to internet IPod has include Wi-Fi. For connection with another device, IPod use the iPod Accessory Protocol. The iPod Accessory Protocol (also known as Apple Accessory protocol) is used for the communication between iOS devices and accessories such as docking stations and car adaptors. It is used for play control of iOS devices, transferring metadata such as track information and album art and communication between the accessory and applications running on the iOS. Apple has redesigned the original iAP protocol to add a new version called iAP2 when it introduced the 9-pin lightning connector.
That is the review of IPod touch 5. Many people think that IPod is user friendly and look elegant. Also it is cheaper than IPhone which is almost same between them, many people think that the biggest differences between IPhone and IPod is in sim card. For the conclusion I think IPod is very nice for us, especially teenager like us that want to have good and high class media player which has good performance that can support you playing video game, take good picture and manage the social media. Also it will look elegant for you because Apple has good reputation and big prestige. So if you want to have IPhone but you have budget limit IPod is good way to choose.
